Tibetan
Mastif - Do Khy went to Europe on last century. They are from Tibet,
there are breeded and raised them from immemorial times. First pictures,
in Europe, about Tibetan mastif are hand-drawn of pilgrims and partly

Marco
Polo has described those dogs as influential, powerful and with
extraordinary good guard dogs. In Tibet there are arised several
dogs with different personality and standards, who are called
Tibetan Mastif. In fact they used the dog who is nowadays known
as Do-Khyi more as hunting dog and cattle dog, less as guard dog.

|
|
In
the temples and villages was for guard better known Tsang-Khyi,
who was sturdier and larger Tibetan Mastif than Do-Khyi.
|
|
|
Nowadays
is Tsang-Khyi valued in China, where are several breeders who
are focused only on this breed. European Tibetan mastif has gon
nowaday look and standards from successor of Do-Khyi and Tsang-Khyi
crossbreeds. Clean Tsang-Khyi does not exist in FCI standards,
but in China they juded different from Do-Khyi breed. In Tibet
they are different breed Tibetan mastif - Tsang-Khyi and Do-Khyi.

|
In
fact there are in Europe much those breeders, who wish to breed
aboriginal dogs. That is why they asserted to FCI projects and
suggestions, where thay wish to change the standards. Tsang-Khyi
and Do-Khyi type of Tibetan Mastifs have different breed qualities,
so they cannot measure them on one standard.
